The most common way
people give up their
power
is by thinking that they
don’t have any
- Alice Walker
In times like these it’s important to not lose our
voices, but also give a platform to the
voices that
need it most and though we aren’t black we do
see the blatant disparities and
racism that black
people face everyday in this country. We
recognize and acknowledge
the color of our
skin. Part of doing everything we can is learning
to make sure voices more
important and relevant
than our own have a platform. In efforts to use
our voice properly,
and to be the best allies that
we can we’ve compiled a list of bail funds,
learning resources
and a link to a website
focused on shining light onto black authors - all
of which can be
used to stay informed on the
current state of things, as well as exposing the
ingrained
lineage of racism in America. This isn’t
an isolated incident, but a small link in a very
long
chain of racism… this is an everyday fight
for justice until everyone has it.
